What an incredible breakthrough for the young goalkeeper, Zach Jeacock has been given his opportunity this season and he's absolutely grabbed it with both hands. Lincoln played Chelsea in the cup and he was given the chance and managed to keep a clean sheet for 45 minutes, and keeping clean sheet against Manchester United under 21's and after watching him across these 7 appearances and 630 minutes of action, I can safely say we've got something special on our hands here, if given the chance in the first team I can safely say he can do the job. 


He is commanding, and his shot-stopping ability is second to none at this level. Those reflexes are lightning quick and when you look at the numbers - 20 saves from 25 shots on target faced, that's an 80% save percentage which is absolutely phenomenal. You don't get numbers like that without having serious quality between the sticks. He reads the game brilliantly, positions himself perfectly, and when called upon he delivers time and time again.  

What really impresses me about Jeacock is his mentality and how he approaches each game, he's only conceded 3 goals across those 630 minutes which works out to less than half a goal per game, and he's kept 4 clean sheets giving him a 57.1% clean sheet rate. When you watch him play you can see how much it means to him, every save, every command of his box, every bit of communication with his defence - he's fully invested in keeping that goal protected.


His distribution is quality as well, whether it's throwing it out quickly to start a counter or picking out a pass to get us moving forward, he sees the opportunities and executes them. You can tell he's not just thinking about stopping shots, he's thinking about how to turn defence into attack in an instant, and that's the mark of a modern goalkeeper who understands the complete game.  

I have a feeling we won't have him for too long if he keeps performing like this, he needs the experience and sitting on the bench waiting will only stunt his development, it's a risk but I feel he should be loaned to a league 1 club and gain that valuable experience.
