Having started his youth career at Chesterfield making 150 appearances and scoring 11 goals he got a fantastic opportunity to showcase his ability in the championship with Burnley and got them promoted to the making 21 appearances in the championship and securing Burnley a promotion to the premiership unfortunately he never made an appearance in the premiership and at the end of the season was sold to Nottingham Forest, where he made 63 appearances and scored 1 goal, then after 3 season at Nottingham Forest he was sold to Wigan Athletic where he made 116 appearances and scored 2 goals, then came a season in Cyprus with Apollon Limasol where he made 37 appearances and scored 1 goal, Lincoln then brought him to Sincil Bank and now he is our Captain.

101 appearances and 11 goals sounds like a midfielders stats but no I assure you Tendayi Darikwa is in fact a right wing back, he did play as a winger in Cyprus and is shows as you will see him overtaking the actual player who is playing as a winger, in fact on some occasions he is overtaking the strikers, he is very attacking minded and had 38 shots with 17 being on target making a very good 44.7% shot accuracy which is incredible for a defender.

Darikwa played 45 games all starting and played the majority for the full 90 minutes and only missed 1 game. His highlight would be scoring 2 goals past our rivals Peterborough and assisting 1. His defensive game is very good as well he has 103 tackles won and 73 interceptions and 118 defensive clearances and 108  tackles won, he look calm on the ball and likes to get to ball forwards, with 1,230 successful passes 344 unsuccessful passes giving him 78.1% pass completion percent he is composed and smart with his passing, when he is in an attacking position he does play very good balls in the box with 58 successful crosses and 42 chances created and 3 assists he is very well rounded player and very experiences and it shows when he is playing he knows when to attack and when the defend and knows how to organise the defence.

At 34 years old this maybe the last season we get out of Darikwa but his passion and engine is something to will rub off on all our players, I hope he stays playing for a few more years with us but with high level football in takes its toll on their bodies so if he calls it a day I would love him to join the coaching staff and shape everything as he wont just be good at defensive training he will be good at attacking training, If there is a player to watch off the ball it is Darikwa he will give tips to players he will run into space, in fact he wont stop running and if the player doesn’t spot his run he will get angry at the player, he has a lot of passion and wears the shirt and captain armband with pride.
