Lincoln's first departure is Erik Ring

Lincoln's first departure is Erik Ring to Kilmarnock ,a player I had always liked to see, his attacking game was spot on, his defensive game, well he didn’t really defend and I think that was what had let him down as players like Reeco Hackett had improved their defensive game when we needed it in league 1. I did feel Ring would have been a fantastic super-sub but unfortunately game time was harshly limited due to our 11 players smashing every team thrown at us and I can't fault us for not changing a winning team.

At 24 years old and 49 appearances and 6 goals, including a goal of the week in the F.A Cup against Crawley, he had a lot of potential but hadn’t been given the chances, I would have thought a loan move to a league 1 club would have been a better option but then we don’t know what had been said behind closed doors and we cant stand in someone's way when they want to get game time and hopefully a fresh start in a new division will do him the world of good.

With only 12 appearances and 1 start in the 46 games of the season, 0 goals and 0 assists this will not come as shock that he has moved on, and unfortunately most fans wont miss him as he never made an impact, he has 37 passes and 18 successful passes giving a 48.6% completion rate, those are not championship stats and to make it worse he managed just 2 shots and with 1 being on target.

We wish Erik all the best and I will be keeping an eye on his progress and at 6’1 I hope he bullies Rangers Celtic and Hearts in the Scottish Premiership I think we let one slip though the net here but as I said earlier he was not very good at defending and if he improves that in his game we might well see him back in England if he has a few good seasons at Kilmarnock.
